1) Awareness generation, Community Mobilzation and collective formation
 
Several round of meeting conducted at the village level in the village of Bhagwatipur, Usrar, Bataua, Nanaur, & Jhanjharpur  since march till date.  Due to covid situation we prefer very small  group meeting. After that we formed 5 collectives group. 4 group in Andhrathari Block  and 1 group in Jhanjharpur Block.

2)  Procurement of Equipments and construction of Processing centre
 
Our team identified traditional as well as modern equipments required for processing and sorting of Makhana in consultation with the farmers as well as established processor.

3)  Capacity building 

While meeting with the members, our team identified that members left the activity of Makhana processing since last more than 10 years so they were little hesitant in initiating the activity so we organised capacity building of members on Makhana processing, organised exposure visit to ICAR Dharbhanga, Capacity building on sorting & packaging.

4) Processing activity details

After the four collective group started the production of Makhana. procurement of seed done by committee after finalization of rate by members of committee, then task of procurement given to technical staff. After procurement Gudi distributed among members and they started the processing of Gudi.

Further plan of action

 Our further plan is to promote Gudi Cultivation so we started model pond in our campus as well as we are generating awareness in community to take up the activity of Makhana processing.
